Big Joe Fuf vs Lovesac: Size, Covers, and What You're Paying For

The useful comparison starts with a specific Fuf and a specific Sac. Big Joe sells several kinds of seating, and a small bead-filled chair tells you very little about its large foam-filled Fuf range.

The Fuf 8ft Isn't 8 Feet Wide

Big Joe now calls its former Fuf XXL the Fuf 8ft. Its size guide explains that the feet measurement runs diagonally from a back top corner to a front bottom corner. Use the width and depth to plan your room.

The Fuf measurements come from Big Joe's size guide. Lovesac publishes width and height for the MovieSac, SuperSac, and BigOne. All are approximate dimensions of soft furniture, and published height isn't occupied seat height.

For a large lounge seat, compare the Fuf 7ft or 8ft with the SuperSac and BigOne. For a smaller corner, compare the Fuf 5ft with the MovieSac. Those are shopping shortlists, not claims that the models have identical capacity or feel.

Tape the dimensions onto your floor before ordering. Leave space to walk around the chair, open nearby doors, and move it for cleaning. If the outline already blocks your normal path to the couch, a product photo won't make that corner bigger.

Both Use Foam, but That Doesn't Prove They Feel Alike

Big Joe describes the Fuf 8ft's filling as shredded, previously unused flexible polyurethane foam recovered from manufacturing. Lovesac describes its Durafoam as a proprietary foam blend. The current products compared here are foam-filled.

A material name can't tell you how far your hips will sink, whether you can sit cross-legged comfortably, or how much effort it takes to stand up. The amount and arrangement of filling, the cover, and your body all affect that experience.

If you can try a model, sit in the position you'll actually use at home. Bring your feet up for reading, lean back as you would for a film, and get out of it a few times. Ask a showroom which Sac and cover it has before making a trip.

Choose the Fabric Before Comparing Prices

The Fuf 8ft comes in Standard, Signature, and Premium fabric lines. The Signature Vanilla Latte Corded Plush configuration showed $249.99 for the filled chair with removable cover when checked on September 9, 2026. That is one US configuration's displayed price, before tax, and can change.

Lovesac sells both complete configurations and separate inserts and covers. Open the MovieSac, SuperSac, or BigOne builder, choose your cover, and confirm that the summary includes both parts. Comparing a cover-only price with a complete Fuf gives you a useless total.

Write down the exact model, fabric, complete purchase total, and any extras you actually want. Use the current quoted amount instead of a crossed-out list price or monthly financing figure. Then ask what you'd use the extra money for if you chose the cheaper option.

A lower-priced Fuf can be a sensible purchase even for a room you use daily. A more expensive chair needs to offer something you value, such as a particular cover, a preferred sit you've tried, or warranty terms that suit you. Price alone doesn't demonstrate a longer useful life.

Washable Covers Have Fabric-Specific Exceptions

For its washable removable Fuf covers, Big Joe specifies cold water, a gentle cycle, mild detergent, and air drying. Premium Vegan Leather is spot-clean only. A removable cover isn't automatically a machine-washable one.

Lovesac's SuperSac in Dove Channeled Phur has a removable machine-washable cover with cold-wash and line-dry instructions. Check the care label for whichever fabric you choose rather than applying that instruction to every cover in the catalog.

For a household with snacks or pets, decide whether you'd rather wash a fabric cover or spot-clean your chosen alternative. Think through where a large wet cover will dry, too. The laundry routine is part of owning the chair.

Expect Setup and Fluffing

Big Joe's assembly guide recommends putting the cover on while the insert is still compressed. The Fuf 8ft listing allows 72 hours for expansion. Plan a clear space to turn the chair and redistribute its filling when it becomes uneven.

For an existing Lovesac that feels uneven, follow its care instructions and contact support before adding generic filling. Lovesac's fill guidance directs Sac owners toward support for insert problems rather than treating them like a routine bead refill.

We don't have comparative measurements of how often these models need fluffing or how many years either lasts. A replacement schedule would be guesswork. If your current chair still works well after ordinary care, replacing it isn't an automatic upgrade.

What Would Justify Paying More for Lovesac?

Its warranty schedule lists 100 years against manufacturing defects for Sac inserts and 3 years for Sac covers. The full policy sets eligibility and exclusions. Read those terms before treating the insert guarantee as protection for the entire chair.

Lovesac also offers a broad choice of replacement covers. That matters if you already know you'll want to change fabrics or keep a spare. Match replacements to the exact model; a similar width doesn't establish that another brand's cover will fit.

Choose the Fuf if your preferred size and washable fabric meet your needs at a price you're comfortable paying. Choose a Sac if you've found a specific benefit worth its complete configured price. If neither fits your room, keep looking instead of buying the biggest discount.
