Affordable Lovesac Alternatives

TL;DR

The best affordable Lovesac alternative for most buyers is the Cosac 7ft ($399): shredded memory foam, washable sherpa cover, everything included. Close to MovieSac volume and feel at roughly a third the price. Runners-up: CordaRoy's Queen ($560) if you need a guest-bed conversion, and Big Joe Fuf XXL (~$280) if your budget caps at $300.

Lovesac makes a great product. A fully configured SuperSac runs $1,300 to $1,700. If that math doesn't work for you, you're in the right place.

The good news is Lovesac isn't the only brand making dense foam-filled beanbags anymore. Several companies sell the same kind of comfort at a fraction of the price. The catch is knowing which ones deliver and which ones are a cheap beanbag in a nicer box.

We make one of these (Cosac), so take anything positive about us with a grain of salt. We'll still try to be useful about everyone else.

What Makes a Lovesac Feel Like a Lovesac?

Two things, mostly. Dense shredded foam fill and a thick, removable cover.

The foam matters because it holds its shape for years. A Lovesac from 2015 still sits like a Lovesac from 2015. Cheap bead-filled beanbags flatten in 6 months and start compressing like a dying pillow.

The cover matters because you'll spill things on it, your dog will sit on it, and eventually you'll want to wash it. A sewn-in cover is a 2-year timeline. A removable one is a 10-year timeline.

Anything that delivers those 2 things at a lower price is a legitimate alternative. Anything that skips either is just a cheap beanbag with a Lovesac-adjacent description.

CordaRoy's

Founded in 1998, Shark Tank funded, still family-run out of Florida. Their angle is the bed conversion: unzip the cover, flatten the foam insert, you've got a queen-sized guest mattress.

Prices run from $330 (Full) to $800 (King in premium fabric). The Queen sits around $560, which is roughly a third of a comparable Lovesac. The foam is shredded polyfoam, less dense than Durafoam but closer to it than anything else in the sub-$600 range.

The trade-off: in chair mode, the loose foam shifts more than a Lovesac. You'll reshape it more often. If you rarely have overnight guests, you're paying for a feature you won't use.

Best for: Studios, guest rooms, anywhere a piece of furniture needs to do 2 jobs.

Big Joe Fuf

Big Joe's premium line. Shredded polyurethane foam, removable washable cover, ~$185 for the XL and ~$280 for the XXL.

This is the closest thing to a Lovesac under $300. The foam is legitimately shredded foam, not beads. The cover genuinely comes off. The shapes are close enough.

Where it falls short of Lovesac: the foam is less dense, the stitching is lighter, and after 18 months of daily use it'll feel noticeably flatter than a SuperSac would at the same age. You can refill it, but you'll be refilling.

Best for: The closest Lovesac-adjacent feel possible under $300, for people fine with replacing or refilling within 2 to 3 years.

Ultimate Sack

A quieter player. Made in the US, ships directly, no retail presence. The Ultimate Sack 6000 is a 6ft dense-foam beanbag for around $390, which puts it in Cosac territory on price.

Their foam is shredded polyurethane, covers are removable and available in a handful of fabrics. Quality is solid. The brand is smaller, so customer service reviews are mixed depending on which year you read.

Best for: Budget buyers who want US-made foam at a sub-$400 price and don't mind a less-polished unboxing experience.

Yogibo Max

Yogibo isn't really a Lovesac alternative (different fill, different feel), but it shows up in enough comparison searches to warrant a mention.

The Max is 6ft long, runs about $330, and fills with EPS micro-beads. Beads, not foam. It's lighter, more conforming, and the cover stretches as you sit.

If you've sat in a Lovesac and liked the dense-foam feel, Yogibo will disappoint you. If you haven't, and you just want a big comfortable beanbag, it's fine.

The other catch: micro-beads compress. Yogibo sells refills at $79 per 2.5lb bag, and most owners top off once or twice a year. Over 3 years the Max runs $500-plus. (We wrote about this separately.)

Best for: People who haven't felt a Lovesac and don't yet know they'd prefer dense foam.

Cosac

That's us. Shredded memory foam, dual-bag construction (inner liner for the foam, outer sherpa cover that zips off). 5ft $249, 6ft $299, 7ft $399.

The 7ft sits at roughly MovieSac volume, priced at about a third. Cover comes off. Fill holds shape because it's memory foam rather than generic polyurethane. Everything ships in 1 box with nothing sold separately.

Where Lovesac has us beat: 200+ fabric combinations and a lifetime warranty on the fill. We have 3 colors and a 60-day money-back guarantee. Most buyers don't end up needing either.

Best for: Lovesac-grade foam feel with everything included, for people who don't need a selection of 200+ fabrics but want an affordable price.

What You're Not Actually Saving On

An alternative isn't just the sticker price. A few costs sneak up on you:

Refill cycles. Bead-filled beanbags (Yogibo, some configurations elsewhere) need topping off within a year. Bake another $50 to $100 a year into the real cost.

Shipping. Most big beanbags ship vacuum-compressed, which makes shipping possible but narrows the return window. Check return shipping cost before ordering.

Covers. If the cover isn't included or isn't washable, add $100 to $200 for a replacement when life happens.

What to Watch Out For

A few red flags you're looking at a bad alternative:

The fill is listed as "beads" with no further detail. That's usually EPS, which flattens fastest.

The cover doesn't come off. Non-negotiable if you have pets, kids, or eat near it.

The price is under $100. Lovesac at $1,300 isn't pure retail margin. Dense shredded foam in bulk is expensive. Anything under $100 is almost always bead-filled, thin-covered, and short-lived.

The Honest Answer

For most buyers, the Cosac 7ft at $399 is the best affordable Lovesac alternative. Shredded memory foam, washable cover, everything in 1 box, roughly a third of the Lovesac price. We made it that way, so yes, we're biased. The math still works out.

Pick something else if you have a specific reason: CordaRoy's if you need a guest bed, Big Joe Fuf if your budget caps at $300, Lovesac itself if the lifetime warranty or a local showroom genuinely matters to you.

For everyone else, the comfort difference between a $399 Cosac and a $1,300 SuperSac is smaller than the price difference. (Our full Lovesac vs. Cosac breakdown is here.)

FAQ

Is any Lovesac alternative exactly as good as Lovesac? Hard to say. Lovesac's foam density and warranty are real benchmarks. But the alternatives get close on feel for a lot less money, which is the point.

What's the cheapest Lovesac dupe worth buying? Big Joe Fuf XXL at ~$280 is the cheapest legitimate option. For a step up in foam density and a washable sherpa cover, the Cosac 5ft at $249 is roughly the same price for a better-built bag.

Which Lovesac alternative feels closest to a Lovesac? The Cosac, in our testing. Same shredded-foam sink-in, same dual-bag construction, same removable cover. The difference at a third of the price is mostly the fabric selection and warranty paperwork.

Will a cheaper beanbag last 5+ years? If it's shredded foam with a removable cover, probably yes. If it's beads, no.
