Yogibo vs Lovesac: Beads, Foam, and the Space They Need

A long lounger beside the TV and a broad round seat in a reading corner solve different problems. That's the useful starting point for Yogibo vs Lovesac, even when both appear in the same bean bag search.

Cosac publishes this guide and sells a competing foam bean bag. We checked manufacturer specifications on September 9, 2026; this is a comparison of documented features and practical buying considerations, not a claim that we've tested these chairs side by side.

Yogibo Max vs MovieSac vs SuperSac: the dimensions

Don't compare the Max's 6-foot length with the SuperSac's 5-foot width and conclude that the Max needs more room. One is a long form, the other is broad in both directions. A narrow strip beside a sofa and a square corner offer very different places to put them.

Mark each outline on the floor with painter's tape, then leave room for your feet and a clear route past the chair. Open the nearest door, pull out a desk chair, and reach for the coffee table. A product can fit its taped outline while making the room awkward to use.

Standard Yogibo, Premium Yogibo, and Lovesac have different fills

Yogibo's current FAQ distinguishes standard EPS beads from the EPP beads in its Premium Series. A comparison that describes every Yogibo as EPS misses that choice. Ask which version you're sitting on in a showroom, especially if you're using that visit to decide what to order online.

Lovesac specifies shredded Durafoam for the MovieSac. Its individual foam pieces and Yogibo's small beads are different constructions, and the outer fabric also changes how a chair gives under you. Neither a fill label nor a soft-looking photograph establishes which you'll prefer.

Use the same position for a fair comfort check: sit upright to read, lean back as you would for a movie, then get up without using the display furniture next to you. Refilling and fluffing are different jobs

Yogibo sells refill beads and says compression depends on use. Its FAQ describes a longer interval for ordinary sitting than frequent jumping or impacts. That doesn't support assuming every owner must buy a refill annually, or assigning everyone the same 3-year maintenance bill.

If your Yogibo needs a top-up, confirm the correct refill for your model and filling before buying. Keep standard EPS and Premium EPP separate when comparing upkeep. Manufacturer durability descriptions aren't an independent measurement of how long either will feel right in your home.

Lovesac's fluffing instructions describe rotating the Sac to move air through its filling. Before choosing a large model, consider whether you can comfortably turn it in its intended spot. Leave yourself access around the chair for that job and for removing its cover.

Check the care label on the cover you actually buy

Yogibo's care page currently recommends a cold gentle wash and low tumble drying for its removable cover. Follow the label on your particular cover if its instructions differ. The filled inner bag stays out of that wash load.

Lovesac's care guide says most covers can be washed cold and line dried, but lists dry-clean-only and spot-clean-only exceptions. The MovieSac's Dove Channeled Phur listing explicitly specifies cold washing and line drying. Check your selected fabric instead of relying on a brand-wide washable claim.

If quick turnaround after a spill matters, plan where you'll dry the cover and where the exposed insert can stay meanwhile. A spare cover may be useful, but price it separately and confirm the exact model fit. A similar-looking cover from another brand isn't evidence of compatibility.

Compare the complete purchase, in the same market

Make 3 saved quotes: a standard Yogibo Max, a MovieSac with your chosen cover, and a SuperSac with that same fabric. Add a separate Premium Max quote if that's the Yogibo version you want. An insert-only price and a complete chair price aren't equivalent purchases.

Record the configuration, final checkout total, and quote date. Then add only the accessories you'd actually use. Promotions change, and an optional footrest or spare cover can change the comparison without changing the chair itself. Keep any possible future refill expense as a separate scenario, rather than presenting it as a certain cost.

Which one would we choose?

Start with Yogibo Max if you want an elongated seat and expect to reshape it between reading and reclining. Try the standard and Premium versions separately. If stretching out lengthways is the reason you're shopping, don't let a larger round model win purely because its size name sounds more generous.

Start with MovieSac if you want a round foam chair and the smaller Lovesac outline fits your room. Move up to SuperSac when you've measured the extra width and want more room to curl up or share. If 2 adults will use it regularly, both should try it together in the positions they actually use.

If you've settled on a round foam bean bag, the Cosac is another option to compare by size, cover, and total price. We use shredded memory foam and a removable sherpa-fleece cover. That's a different product choice from Yogibo's stretchy bead-filled Max, and shared use of foam doesn't make Cosac identical to Lovesac either.
